Biography
Sophie Serra is a French artist based in Provence. Her interest in Art was shaped from a young age in the diversity and beauty of the surrounding landscapes, rich in culture and architectural heritage.
After completing some professional training at the ENSP in Arles, she specialized in photography of both ancient and contemporary architecture, highlighting different viewing angles.
This artist's innate need for originality led her to photographic creation, boldly reinterpreting the monuments that fascinate her and offering an innovative vision, the observer thus finding himself immersed in a new universe.
In a permanent quest, Sophie Serra deconstructs, fragments or distorts her photographs as she wishes in order to recompose the new visual that she has imagined with a particular search for aesthetics.
Inspired by symbolism and design, her works are graphic and revolve around simple or complex geometric figures, perspectives or contrasts.
With her work, Sophie Serra wishes to pay tribute to the builders who have left their mark over time and constructed our visual landmarks.
His work is part of an approach that also aims to raise awareness and support the preservation of architectural heritage and its integration into the environment, leading to necessary reflection on the possible harmony between different environments.
