Biography

The wreck sculptor.

What do sailors dream of, what do wrecks dream of? These dream of living again, those dream of boats. The boat reborn from the wreck and which becomes the sailor's dream again, this is the approach of Ronan, who is an artist inspired by the sea.

Driftwood, shipwrecks, shipyard scraps are the materials he recovers to assemble them into a new SCULPTURE that can also take the form of a BAS RELIEF or an EX-VOTO. Shapes and dimensions are readjusted without bias at the start, but according to his inspiration and their possibilities, the current state of the piece generating the silhouette of the future ship. In some cases, this flat can be considered under its two faces - starboard and port.

The assemblies are of all types: gluing, screwing, nailing, riveting and ligature. This is how this hull shaper works, who likes to create dynamic bows, elegant curves and balance a hull that he shapes intuitively. As a racer, he knows what goes fast, as a long-distance captain, he knows instinctively what gives the ship its seaworthiness. Preserving the original colors to emphasize the wear and tear of the marine environment, the harshness of maritime conditions, allows us to feel the soul of the ship, its personality, the experience it carries, its human and emotional charge.
