Nicole Stamatakis

From childhood, Nicole was passionate about drawing and painting.
After studying drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1970s and experimenting with various techniques, dry pastel became his preferred tool.
After having tackled the themes of still life, flowers, landscapes and participated in numerous exhibitions in the Paris region, since 1997, she has lived in the Basque Country and painting the Ocean has naturally become a passion.
His technique is based on the fundamentals of drawing, which are primarily observation and understanding of the subject. The common thread of his work is the search for light.
Since 2010, she has been invited to exhibit her pastels at international exhibitions organized by the Société des Pastellistes de France, throughout France, as well as with the Societies of Pastellists "Pastel en Périgord" in Saint-Aulaye, "Pastel Grand Sud" in Villepinte and "Pastel en Bretagne" in Fougères.
His pastels have received several awards there and the Municipality of Saint-Aulaye acquired one of his works for its Pastel Museum.
The magazine "Practice des Arts" devoted an article to him in March 2013, in July 2016 in its "Pastel Special Edition" and in summer 2018 in the "Essential Guide to Marines"
