Bronze Sculpture for Sale
As Renoir said: "For me, a painting must be something pleasant, joyful and pretty, yes pretty! There are enough annoying things in life without us making any more."
Born in Tunisia in 1948, Joël Monnier discovered the Mediterranean light as a child, a light that would have a lasting influence on his work. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he won a prize at the Salon des Indépendants in the 1960s, he moved to the South in 1977 in search of light.
An artist of color and simultaneous contrast, he draws inspiration from Seguin, Delacroix, the Delaunays, Cézanne, and the Impressionists. His vibrant portraits and geometric landscapes reflect his constant search for light, which he believes accentuates the colorful vibration of shadows.
First and foremost, graphic designer and founder of the Art Quotidien school, Joël Monnier developed a joyful style of painting where color, applied before drawing, creates luminous harmonies. His work perpetuates the tradition of modern masters while asserting an instantly recognizable personal style.
