Presentation

Nathalie Daoust was born in Montreal, Canada, where she studied photography at the Cegep du Vieux-Montreal before moving to New York City. This is where she wrote her first book on photography called "New York Hotel Story". In 2001 she moved to Japan for a period of two years to document the red light district of Tokyo. Since then, she has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Canada, United States, Poland, Spain, England and Tokyo. Her photographs have been subject to many publications and were awarded.

The artist is mainly interested in themes like intimacy and sensuality, and through her photos she is able to show the secrets hiding behind the apparent stability of life. Nathalie Doust creates a link between truth, dreams and the desire to get away. Always on the look out for new emotions, the photographer works with new mediums and discovers a new black room technique.
