Julia A. Etedi's artistic approach resembles a “palimpsest": a handwritten parchment whose first writing has been erased to write a new text.

The artist's writings are composed of abstract shapes and lines that dialogue side by side and in superposition. Some forms cover others, reveal them, or fade under the friction orchestrated by the artist's hand.

Julia A. Etedi paints, traces, scratches, erases, dilutes and rewrites in order to translate the impressions that have become anchored in them during her travels. A macrocosm in a microcosm that she translates by transposing onto the canvas the sound of the wind in the leaves, the singular dance of a rain, the light of winter dawn, the transformation of a bud into a flower, the falling snow covering the mountains, or even the smell of a fig tree with ripe fruit under a summer sun. These impressions find resonance in everyone thanks to the deployment of an abstract language inspired by universal shapes and colors. In Julia A.
