Tarek Benaoum

It was at the age of 14 that Tarek, captivated by the vague graffiti, is introduced to this art that he will not cease practicing and exploring. He is passionate about Scripture and the work of calligraphy which is its inherent continuity. Thus in 2003 he joined for three years the private workshop of graphic arts, typography and calligraphy of Mr. Bernard Arin - one of the founders of the Scriptorium of Toulouse, school of excellence in all areas of writing, Attached to the Beaux Arts of Toulouse from 1968 to 1986. He receives the teachings of renowned teachers such as Kitty Sabatier, Véronique Sabard, Hassan Massoudy.

Tarek claws the words of all and everyone and "it speaks": an inspired universe emerges and touches us as a universal language. It explores a semantic "anti-conformist and innovative". Time seems to be diluted by a technique of embedding letters and words, superimpositions, vertical and horizontal stretches until an undulatory flow is obtained. Fragments of texts will be recognized in his ornamental poems among those of Fenelon, Dante, Khalil Gibran, William Blake, Abdellatif Lââbi or the Bible.
