Presentation

1938 Enters the École des Beaux-Arts and enrolls in the Sabatté painting studio.
 
1942 First prints. Two months later he competed for the Grand Prix de Rome de Gravure. His erotic interpretation of the subject puts him out of the competition.
 
1943 In reaction, Tremois presents himself in the painting section and obtains the First Grand Prix of Rome of Painting.
A series of his first engravings was presented at the Bibliothèque nationale on the occasion of the Exposition des Peintres-Graveurs. Dunoyer de Segonzac will be his first collector.
Participates in the Salon des Tuileries.
 
1945 Denoël presents Paul Vialar to him. Éditions Archat publishes its first illustrated book: La Grande Meute. This book was a success in publishing. It is then that publishers among the most important, offer to collaborate with their authors: Claudel, Jouhandeau, Rostand, Montherlant, Giono, etc.
His first prints are drawn on the presses of Raymond Haasen, then Roger Lacourière becomes his printer.
Participation in the exhibition of engravings Galerie Colette Allendy.
 
1947 Share for Greece, after a stay of one month at the Villa Medici, instead of the three statutory years of stay offered to the Prix de Rome
 
1948 Tremois illustrates The afternoon of a fauna of Mallarmé, then Daphnis and Chloé of Longus.
Gets the prize of the Casa Velázquez, one of the privileges of which consisted of a stay of one year in Madrid. He will stay there for a day.
 
1951 Gallimard confides to him the illustration of the Announcement made to Marie de Claudel. From this edition a specially printed copy was offered to Pope Pius XII in the presence of Claudel and Tremois.
 
1953 Montherlant asks Tremois to illustrate Pasiphae and Le Chant de Minos. Grave a portrait of Montherlant.
 
1954 Illustrates Endymion, original text of Jouhandeau.
Participation in the Exhibition of French Painters-Engravers, in the National Library.
 
1955 Flammarion confided to him the illustration of Adonis by Jean de La Fontaine, with a foreword by Paul Valery, of which he made the acquaintance.
Exhibition of the work at the Galerie Kléber, organized by Jean Fournier.
Tremois illustrates the Cyclogetics of Oppian, prefaced by Marguerite Yourcenar.
Spend a month in Avignon and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, hence the project to illustrate Les Sonnets de Pétrarque, a work he composed and engraved with color plates.
 
1956 Trip to Cameroon.
Film Graphics by Jacques Guignard with the participation of Masson, Lorjou, Segonzac and Goerr.
 
1957 Meeting Jean Rostand: birth of friendship and close collaboration.
In May, Tremois asked him if he would accept to treat the subject of love relations in animals, in a Bestiaire d'amour.
The idea and the title itself appeal to the scientist and the text is finished in November.
On this occasion, Tremois executed one hundred and twenty monotypes of large format. These print-inked paintings were pressed by Jacques Frélaut and, for the first time, a current edition of a luxury book was made by Robert Laffont (1958), and a reissue by Doubleday New York (1961).

Participates with Lacourière, Naly, Miro, Picasso, Segonzac and Masson in Jean Grémillon's film: La Boite aux images.
 
1960 Montherlant entrusted him with the original manuscript of a play, Cisnéros, which later became the Cardinal of Spain.
Tremois engraved the boards of this work in 1960, after a stay in Spain.
 
1961 Participates with Buffet, Dali, Leonor Fini, Foujita, Mathieu and Zadkine in the illustration of L'Apocalypse de Saint Jean, a unique book designed and directed by Joseph Forêt from 1958 to 1961.
As a result of this book, Trémois met Dali in Port-Lligat; A friendship was formed and then faded for a few years until Tremois found Salvador Dali in 1979 as "confrere", enthroned under the dome of the Institute.
An important study by Louis Pauwels on Trémois in one of the first issues of the magazine Planète.
 
1962 Illustrates the Art of Love of Ovid and Siena of Suares.
Exhibition at the lsy Brachot Gallery in Brussels.
In December 1963, during a stay in Brittany, meets Catherine who will become his wife.
 
1964 Montherlant asks Tremois to produce the illustration of Prefect Spendius, the original manuscript of a play which became La Guerre civile. Grave a second portrait of the author.
Presentation of the book at the Anne Colin Gallery.
 
1965 Member of the Academy of Drawing of Florence.
Member of the French National Book Committee.
Illustrious Galileo Galilei, homage to Galileo, realized for Saint-Gobain.
Exhibition Galerie Kieffer, Paris.
 
1966 Illustrious Birth of the Odyssey and On the sidelines of the journey of Ulysses by Jean Giono, with whom he comes into contact with Manosque.
