Presentation

Franck Scala, born in 1995, is a young talented french artist based in Lyon, France. Plastic artist, he works with different materials (ceramics, wood, mosaic, recycled components,...) to make sculptures, wall sculptures, or art furnitures.

According to Franck Scala, Primitive Art, Symbolism, Minimalism, and the Space Age movement (futuristic art style of the 60/70s' based on organic shapes) are art movements transcending time, which could come from a distant past as well as from an utopian future. These movements endowed with an apparent simplicity lean on existential problems (our origins, life, death, spirituality), giving them a universal and timeless nature.

Invested by these questions, Franck Scala seeks to produce timeless works with universal symbolism. His pieces of organic or surreal shapes draw on the unconscious of the observer and present him with a universe that he already seems to know.
