Biography
Benedicto Cabrera (known also as BenCab), is a Filipino painter, born in Malabon in 1945. Graduating from the University of the Philippines with a BFA in 1963, the artist developed a style of figurative painting which depicts male and female bodies wrapped in cloths and capes. Perhaps slightly whimsical in nature, his paintings are often produced using oil or acrylic paints.
The artist has shown work in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, and also London, where he has lived for much of his professional career.
