Op art (optical art) has found its new prodigy through Alex Pariss (aka Alexandre Paris). Freelance illustrator and director, he makes use of the various facets of an eye, with the help of illusions and optical games.

Alex Pariss has inherited visual perceptions of Victor Vasarely, a major icon of the history of op art, all the while distancing himself through an unusual and unique optical game.

His works mix psychedelia, cinema, illusion to muddle the look. The retina thrusts the impression of movement, until attaining retinal vibration. The vibration blooms through various techniques used by Alex Pariss (free hand painter, stencil and wood engraving) to sketch out an abstract style, but rigorously composed. He puts together a process where color plays a leading role. The form, through its growing circular features make up whirling and vertiginous work. Vertigo turns around towards a delicious, troubling and numbing feeling. An ecstasy like effect when the optic illusion monopolizes the look. The only difficulty the Alex Pariss encountered, is highlighting exhilarating contemplation.

Alex Pariss has spread his illusions in several galleries (Paris, Lyon, Berlin...) or other major places (collectif 59 at Rivoli, Espace albatros in Montreuil). He received the « Ataq awards», Alex Pariss was laureate in 2010. His work is published in various mediums : magazine (publication Chiz magazine, 2014 and 2012), conference « créative Valley » in 2014…
