Biography
Born in 1986 in Paris, Bobby.J spent his childhood in New York, a global city whose cultural abundance would leave a lasting impression on his vision. He continued his training at the prestigious Miami Fine Arts Academy, where he refined his approach and asserted his visual language.
Fascinated by figures such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Kandinsky, and Miss Tic, he created his first works on cardboard, already experimenting with the material and spontaneity of gesture. Involved in the queer community, Bobby.J campaigned for the defense of minorities and multiple identities. This intense, sometimes painful, period fostered a liberating artistic expression: abstraction became for him a space of exorcism and rebirth.
Geometric shapes emerged early on in his work. His compositions, built around intertwining and interplaying lines, display a free and intuitive energy. His gesture, improvised yet precise, invites the viewer to follow the musicality of the line, to be carried away by the rhythm of the curves and the vibration of the colors.
The dense, luminous chromatic masses open a window onto an inner reality where the gaze is lost and rediscovered. Through this harmony between structure and emotion, Bobby.J composes a profoundly human pictorial language—a work that reflects the beauty of the world while revealing its shadows and contradictions.
