Biography
Passionate about the natural world (animal - plant - mineral), the organic relationship and its symbiosis but also attracted by architecture and graphics in all forms, Olivier Mathon creates organic structures, which he calls "pictorial humus" , generating graphic abstract shapes composed of various materials. He practices drawing, painting and collage. Starting with recycled materials such as street posters or magazines, he recreates colored fields giving birth to large assemblages in which the public is invited to contemplate. His universe was built around artistic references such as Robert Rauschenberg, Moebius, Mark Bradford, Julie Mehretu or even Arturo Herrera.
