The work bursts with energetic strokes of red, blue, yellow, and black against a dark atmospheric backdrop. The spontaneous, swirling gestures create a sense of cosmic tension and liberation hallmarks of Brands' post-COBRA style.

Presentation
Constant Nieuwenhuys (1920 - 2005), known as Constant, was an influential Dutch artist, architect, and thinker. He gained recognition as a co-founder of the CoBrA movement (1948 1951), characterized by spontaneous, expressive, and abstract forms. After his CoBrA period, he focused on his visionary architectural project New Babylon , which envisioned a utopian society centered on creativity and freedom. His work, deeply rooted in social and philosophical concepts, continues to inspire contemporary artists.
