Irena Aizen is a renowned contemporary printmaking and painting artist known for her unique fusion of traditional techniques and modern themes. Born in Russia in 1962, Aizen is part of a third-generation artistic family. She began her artistic training at the age of ten and graduated from the Yaroslavl Art College in 1981. Her first work as a book illustrator in Russia laid the foundation for her artistic development.
In 1990, she moved to Israel, where she quickly gained international recognition for her striking depictions of animals and human relationships. Her work blends realism and surrealism , exploring the profound connections between humans and nature. Aizen's works have been exhibited in renowned institutions around the world, such as the Museum of Russian Art in Jersey City, the Naive Art Museum of Latvia in Riga, and the Tula Museum of Fine Arts in Russia.
Her works are included in prestigious private collections in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Russia, Israel, Great Britain, and China. Inspired by famous artists such as Memling, Dürer, and Leonardo da Vinci, Aizen combines classical influences with a contemporary twist.
