Presentation
Valentin Zaharia was born in 1980 in Constanța, Romania, by the Black Sea.
His connection to photography began in childhood, when he wished for a Smena 8 camera. At 20, shortly after finishing high school, he started working as a photographer on cruise ships. Later, he worked as a photojournalist and freelancer in his hometown. In 2011 he completed the “Art of Photography" program at the Teodor T. Burada School of Arts in Constanța. Soon after, he moved to Oslo to explore new opportunities in the field.
In 2018 he returned to Romania, where he works as a studio lighting specialist.
“The fine art photographs I create come from my travels, everyday walks, and personal projects. I usually sell large prints in limited editions, printed on high-quality paper, preferably Hahnemühle. The guiding idea behind my work is 'See beyond.' With each print, I offer a small part of myself, hoping it brings a sense of calm to those who connect with it."
