Michel Jamet

Michel Jamet studied in art schools. Resolutely oriented towards modern art, he paints landscapes with an Impressionist palette "on the motif" like his great predecessors and nudes or still lifes in his studio in Montreuil.

Very attentive to light, he works outdoors and reviews or retouches if necessary in the workshop. His taste pushes him to paint using the Alla Prima technique which gives the painting a lot of spontaneity. Above all, he seeks the balance between hot and cold. Very simple, his design structures the scattering of light and gives solidity to his compositions. He paints on canvas or wood and recently on zinc which allows him to create monotypes using a technique that borrows as much from painting as from engraving.

A lover of the countryside, he regularly stays in the Lot and loves the wide open spaces of the Atlantic beaches, even if you have to be wary of the gusts of wind that throw the easel into the sand!

He exhibits and has exhibited paintings and engravings in Paris (Librairie-galerie Les Argonautes, La Hune-Brenner gallery, Librairie des Alpes), at the Kai gallery (Nara, Japan) at the Maison du parc des Guilands, in the province in Prayssac and Albas.
