Description
This painting is part of my recent solo exhibition, held in my hometown, which featured 38 canvases on the theme of sunflowers. Through this exhibition, I once again express my love for the Earth and its way of life. All summer long, I walked past the sunflower field twice a day. I observed their life cycle. I reflected. The sunflower lives for only five months and goes through a multitude of states, each with its own true meaning and conscious passion. I saw constancy, devotion, and trust in them. The parallel with our own lives was inevitable. What do we do with all the time we have? Are we aware of how precious our time is for so many things? What do we dedicate our time to, or waste it on? What states do we fall into? Are we even aware of being in them? Hence the title, "Stops." Because that is how we move through our lives: through a succession of stops. And each one has its own meaning. Every period, every moment, every person we meet carries something within them, has a role to play, arrives at just the right time. We pause somewhere, with someone. We pause in a feeling, a thought, a state of mind. Do we understand how these states shape us? How do we react to them and allow them to define us? Do we become these states? Do we perceive how they transform us or those around us? That's why most of the paintings presented here are named after states. It was my way of giving them meaning. Others are named after types. They are permanent states or character traits, in a way. And I found them in the different phases of sunflower bloom. It was fascinating.
This original oil painting is created on stretched cotton canvas. Its dimensions are 50 x 50 cm. It is 2 cm thick. The canvas is mounted on a frame and painted on the edges, allowing it to be hung as is, without a frame.
The painting will be shipped carefully packaged within 4 business days of purchase. A certificate of authenticity will be included.
