Shims Seng

Shims Seng is a Singapore-based artist known for her lyrical and moving abstract compositions. Her works explore the interaction of color hues and the dynamic relationships between them, depicting movement, freedom and joy. She has also sought to transcend the limits of perceived reality through her works, providing a space of visual refuge to those who view them. Having graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture, Shimin has found her inspiration from many sources around her and is most fascinated by the gifts that nature has bestowed on this world - the hues, the landscapes, the terrains, the flora and the wildlife and the way each of their existences and rhythms are threaded symbiotically into the tapestry of nature. An inner journey of self-discovery led the artist to venture within and explore the place of calm and freedom that is available to anyone who wishes to seek it. These works of abstraction are represented through its expression allowing those who view them to rest in their own stillness and presence.
