Docteur Cobain

Born in 1979, Docteur Cobain is an artist from Metz, in eastern France. As a teenager, boredom and the prevailing gloom became a source of creativity for him. He developed a passion for comics and, at the age of 15, created his own album, which he titled "Antoine, King of the ANPE" (French National Employment Agency).

A rebel at heart, drawing and painting are his only means of peacefully expressing his way of life. It is above all his travels around the world—England, the United States, Australia, and China—that have enriched him artistically. It is from these experiences that he draws his inspiration and develops the plan to make a living from his art.

After arriving in Brest in 1997, he crossed Brittany to study art in Nantes, where he graduated with highest honors. He then developed a passion for airbrush painting, a technique he practiced for four years in the motorcycle customization scene, learning the use of this tool from renowned figures like Christophe Durand (a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, or Best Craftsman of France). It was at this time that he truly realized he was a talented artist.

From 2005 to 2010, he participated in numerous exhibitions in Brittany. At the 24th Art Fair in Paris, he presented two canvases and won first prize with one of them.

He pushes the boundaries of hyperrealism through the use of fluorescent paints. Positioning himself as a leading expert in this technique, Dr. Cobain plays with both light and paint, creating canvases that depict both daytime and nighttime scenes. This is what makes his work unique and original.

His art unfolds on frescoes and canvases, but also in the field of plastic creation on interior furniture.

In 2010, upon arriving in Toulon, in the South of France, Dr. Cobain partnered with the artist SEATY, with whom he now shares the same passion. They founded their company "MY DECOR – CREATEUR D'AMBIANCE" and own their own artist's studio.

His technique on canvas continues to evolve with the use of invisible fluorescent paints. Today, after 15 years in his artistic career, he continues to develop his entirely unique style with the same passion and audacity.
