Biography

Born in 1963, Laurence Nolleau is a French painter.

Thanks to her parents, Laurence began to travel around the world right since her childhood days. She was mainly influenced by the colors in Middle East and North Africa. During a trip to Algeria, she met Joan Bachs, a former curator of the Barcelona Museum, who gave Laurence her passion for arts and mainly drawing.

In Paris, she studied fashion designing and scale model making and received the 3rd price in scale model making. After an apprenticeship at Dior, her work abroad for the company Boussac and collaboration with several French brands, she got the job as the collection director for Europe for an Australian brand.

Eventually she gave up this world of fashion and dedicated herself to only art. She embarked on an adventure of eight years, where the artist discovered, experimented and used several techniques and mediums, working alone in her studio.

Her work is graphic and striking, as she uses a painting knife and inexhaustible dynamism. Laurence Nolleau does mostly feminine portraits, where the look is highlighted and bewitching.
