Aline Oudeau Chiofolo

Aline's approach is based on the question of the relationship with the past. Through her paintings, she tries to appropriate a part of this past in order to update it and also to become fully aware of this heritage and what we do with it. She starts with old questions that are still relevant today: the image of women in society, our view of the couple, sensuality... The portrait is an obvious choice, a tête à tête with the past, an intimacy that sheds light on our present. The artist's wish is that his works be like links between the past and the future.

Painting has always been part of her daily life. As a child she admired her father's paintings and dreamed while leafing through his art books. Her university education in philosophy and aesthetics was an opportunity to analyse the notions of beauty, creation, work of art... and for a long time her desire to paint took a back seat. Then one day, in the course of life's surprises, her hand seized a brush, ready to let the unspeakable express itself...
