Rafik Majzoub

Born in 1971, Rafik Majzoub is a Lebanese painter and graphic artist. He is self-taught and considers himself an “Outsider Artist” claiming a prominent position in the post-war Lebanese art scene.

His oeuvre focuses on the human condition, but also on the quest for the self. His canvases bear expressive, yet unfinished qualities, which render them timeless, spontaneous and progressing. Majzoub embeds his works with tension, in order to shed light on the power of instinct and the liberation of the unconscious.

The retrospective revealed the progression of his work, and the direction of his creative journey.The artist currently lives and works in Marseille, France.
