Liu Ziyu

Liu Ziyu is a Chinese artist born in 1978 who lives and works in Beijing, China. He graduated in 2020 from Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry with a Ph.D. He is a member of the Creative Union of Russian Artists and a member of the Institute of Chinese Arts and Crafts. Mr. Liu Ziyu was born into a carving family in Hebei Province, where people have been carving for generations since the Han Dynasty. His father and older brother were both famous local sculptors.

In this context, it was natural for the family to think that Liu Ziyu as inheriting an ancestral heritage and that sculpture should be his life's path. Therefore, at the age of thirteen, Liu Ziyu's family sent him to Beijing to study sculpture. However, Liu Ziyu is not interested in sculpture but devotes all his enthusiasm to painting.

The artist was once interviewed: “Why did you choose to paint? He retorted that there was no reason he was born to love painting stricto sensu. It's a choice to follow his heart, all this resulted in the birth of an iconauclast painter. Liu Ziyu's love for painting is definitely rooted in his life. One day he confessed that what he wants the most is to get rid of all distractions and continue painting.

In his free time, his greatest joy is to keep looking at his paintings, painting occupies every corner of his heart. After learning to engage in painting for nearly thirty years, Liu Ziyu's love for painting grew stronger and stronger, and he contributed to the birth of several excellent works for the art world. art. Due to the exceptional nature of his works, he has participated in many exhibitions in his country and abroad.
