Biography
1953-2013
Stéphane Dufraisse specialized in hyperrealistic still life very early on.
His great strengths were the quality of the light, very precise reliefs and above all his ability to render the texture of his subjects (the silkiness of a peach, the freshness of a cut orange, etc.).
Few artists have this ease of working without losing quality. It only took a few days to produce his paintings, which were so precise and so accurate.
His talent is all the more remarkable in that he is self-taught (with the exception of lessons given by a drawing teacher) and that he only saw with one eye, which should have prevented him from restoring relief and depth.
His work is disseminated throughout the world.
