Biography
Originally from La Rochelle, his interest in art was confirmed in the Joussaume workshops. He worked with and learned from experienced artists for almost 10 years. A journey through the different techniques and artistic subjects to better appropriate them.
Various art and graphic design training guided its construction.
Departure for Nantes in 2014. Strong cultural environment which influenced and enriched his vision of art. He followed a training course in Applied Art. He freed his line, his mind and his gesture.
Again in Nantes, two training courses in visual communication and graphics made him aware of the complex world in which he operates.
The work of Théo Le Franc symbolizes the strong and pervasive interdependence between Man and the world.
His bodies spring from the magma of the earth; they are intrinsically linked to it.
Our earth gave birth to them, and then a fusional relationship is established in search of balance through this world to better understand it, even to master it, to build itself and find its place.
His canvases are dominated by the white which represents the Universe, unknown, indescribable, and inconceivable in its infinity; black comes to splash these bodies teeming with life, in the grip of chaos. There are no specific places, it's everywhere or elsewhere: it doesn't matter, since what is put forward is the humanity of the Wandering Being.
This exclusive two-color scheme emphasizes movements and oscillations; like a ballet, these bodies unite and dissolve, in weightlessness or in levitation, a choreography that the artist exercises himself in the face of large formats where he expresses himself through precise gestures.
The work of Théo Le Franc invites us to question ourselves about the place of our body, its fragilities and our relationship with the Earth which carries us.
