Biography
Philippe Demenet (DeMenet) is a French painter born in 1952. After studying international law, journalism but also drawing in the evening workshop, he worked for 40 years as a major “foreign” reporter and editor in different newspapers and media. He travels the world, collecting the testimony of lives in extreme conditions, while practicing drawing and oil pastel.
At the same time, he trained in painting with several masters, for about fifteen years, in particular at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and at the summer workshops of the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Whether in a navy, a face, a body, he strives to capture, as a colourist, the beauty of appearances and the mystery of the depths. The permanence of beings and their perpetual change.
Philippe Demenet has exhibited since 2005 in various places in France.
