"I am on the verge of vertigo in a world I do not know"
Biography
Born in 1957 in the South of France, René Roche entered the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1981. A student of Vladimir Veličković, he set up his studio at the Fric-Frac in Vincennes where he rubbed shoulders with the great figures of Critical Figuration.
He does not hide the pictorial influence of El Greco and Francis Bacon.
He exhibited at Mac 2000, at the Figuration Critique exhibition and at the Jeune Peinture exhibition during the 80s. He then went to New York to present his work.
His work explores the energies and elements that surround us and compose us, from the beating of the heart to the expansion of the world, seeking to rediscover the essence of the divine and develop the subtle within oneself.
René Roche lives and works in Brittany.
