甘仁村 Kam Zin Choon (1931, Singapore) is part of the Post-War Paris School.
“Kam Zin Choon studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and the Royal College of London. Thanks to a scholarship from Singapore, he went to live in Paris to study at the Beaux-Arts.
He was exhibited in 1952 with the Austrian artist Hundertwasser in the international avant-garde gallery of the famous Raymond Duncan, Akademia (1947-1966), 31 rue de Seine in Paris. Visionary, Raymond Duncan created the Prix de Paris and the Prix de New York in order to promote his artists in a spirit of international peace and to make their works travel to a wider audience. The now historic exhibition at the Raymond Duncan Gallery in 1952 "Contemporary Art Exhibition" in which Kam Zin Choon participated provoked hostile reactions and, as a sign of protest, the window of the Raymond Duncan gallery was broken by throwing a paving stone at it. . Raymond Duncan also exhibits Bissière, Goetz, Lu Chong Min from Singapore. At the same time René Drouin went bankrupt while exhibiting Kandinsky and Klee in his gallery.
During her stay in France from 1952 to 1959, Kam Zin Choon's work was abundant, in turn Chinese-inspired with "The rice field", or "The Forbidden City", she turned for a time towards her large Western drawings graphite classics with his series of nudes, “Les Parisiennes”. Kam Zin Choon also engages in cubist-type research with "The Banjo Player" or "Landscape at the Water's Edge" and a quest for abstraction with "Abstraction I" and "Abstraction II". Finally he flourished in masterful compositions where his great mastery of oriental drawing combines with western drawing and the art of calligraphy competes with a representation of the movement achieved with "The horse races" and "The boat races ."'
