Anquins gallery presents the first solo individual by Ramon Surinyac ( Barcelona, 1974) in the gallery. From 1st December 2023 until 20th January 2024.

"Landscap is such a classical gener and has been reinvented so many times throughout the history of art that approaching it from new gazes is a challenge. .. In Surinyac's case, the landscape already forms part of the process of painting it. In the first part of this process there are always photos, taken by the artist on his walks on the beach, through the woods and in the mountains. But in the studio he creates a new reality from fragments of those photographic images. The collages of those non-existent places are what he finally paints. In the same way as many painters construct the scene of a still life or a portrait, Surinyac reconstruct landscapes. His work is therefore a collection of scenographies of nature and the viewer, reminded of so many of the other mountains and woodlands that they have seen, suspects nothing in the result".
