Multimedia artist Héléna Palazzi reconnected with her Swedish roots and the stories she heard as a child about Norse mythology, Viking warriors and forest spirits.

The images presented here are photographic reproductions of portraits and landscapes created by Héléna. For the original works, she uses various media and techniques, such as photographing with an infrared camera to add a supernatural aspect to her colors, or printing the different layers of images on rice paper before sealing them with encaustic. The images are filled with superimposed elements. You gradually discover the textures, details and symbols buried within them.
