Since 2004, The Blind has transformed the braille writing system into a medium of artistic expression, giving it unprecedented visibility by blending the codes of the vandal graffiti from which it originated with its deeply committed approach.

For over 20 years, its messages have been displayed in numerous countries around the world. Both tactile and conceptual, they invite sighted and visually impaired people to share a common experience.

By giving braille a presence in public spaces, The Blind provokes, questions, and redefines our relationship with disability.

Opening 2026 at Galerie Gaïa with The Blind is a powerful choice. Because its work is moving, brings a smile, and puts beauty back at the center. Because it reminds us that art can be committed without being burdensome. This first exhibition of the artist's work in Nantes sets the tone: to see things differently and begin the year with a work that speaks the truth.

2025-2026 marks the bicentenary of Braille, a revolutionary invention that transformed access to reading, education, and knowledge for blind and visually impaired people. The learning and use of Braille are expected to be recognized by the United Nations by the end of 2026.
