The digital brush and bold pixels are Olivier's tools for transforming the paintings he photographs during his travels. He then rewrites the true stories of fake paintings created, in their time, by real artists. He playfully challenges our fetishistic relationship with masterpieces, undermines the power of the label, and grapples with a very contemporary question: what constitutes authority?

"Fake is more! A fake Rolex that looks like a real one? No interest, I like Solex mopeds and Relax motorcycles!" His offbeat history of art builds bridges with the contemporary world, using anachronisms and absurdities to great effect.

With the Monsieur Dupont exhibition, Galerie Gaïa has chosen to host a unique artist at the crossroads of photography, graphic design, and illusion. He creates a parallel circulation of images, weaving around a knowledge that isn't necessary to grasp the subtle wink he gives us.

Behind the "art dealer" lies a craftsman of the image. Olivier Dupont-Delestraint selects classic, sometimes little-known, works that become the terrain for a subtle game, an invitation to take pleasure in questioning what we believe to be false.
