Biography

Vladimir Simonyan (SimVol) is an Armenian painter born in 1950, whose career spans more than five decades of dedicated artistic practice rooted in a profound love for nature and landscape.

He graduated in 1975 from the Republican Fine Arts School named after P. Terlemezyan in Yerevan, and between 1978 and 1981 attended the Academy of Fine Arts named after I. Repin in Leningrad as a free auditor — an experience that deepened his classical foundation and broadened his artistic vision.

Vladimir is a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia and the International Association of Art under UNESCO, as well as an Honorary Member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation — distinctions that reflect the breadth of recognition his work has earned across borders.

Over the course of his career, he has participated in numerous national, international, and solo exhibitions, as well as plein air painting festivals and conferences in Armenia, France, Russia, India, China, Poland, Kazakhstan, and the Baltic states. Among his most notable participations are the international plein air festival (Lithuania, 2013); the international conference (Kazakhstan, 2016); the with the joint exhibition (Poland, 2016); an international plein air festival in China (2018); the international conference in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia (2018); a joint exhibition opening with Russian artists at the CUCN Russian Art Gallery at the Nanjing branch of the Communication University of China (2018); and the 4th International Art Festival in Russia (2019).

His works have entered the collections of museums and private collectors across France, Russia, the United States, China, Poland, Kazakhstan, and the Baltic countries. The greater part of his body of work consists of landscapes painted outdoors — directly in the embrace of nature — through which he celebrates the beauty of the natural world in all its forms and seasons.

In 2011, a book dedicated to his work was published as part of A. Satyan's album under the title .
