Ben Sledsens

A master of dreamlike, utopian acrylic and oil paintings, Belgian artist Ben Sledsens works in Antwerp and London. His work is characteristically formatted on large-scale canvases, often depicting the fleeting moments of everyday life, moments inspired by art history, and portraits of animals. A bright color palette and a keen awareness of the traditional painting styles are also both central to the artist's work.

Having completed his artistic studies at the Royal Academy of Anvers, his work was noticed by the Tim Van Laere Gallery. In 2016, the gallery organized Sledsen's first solo exhibition. The artist has since featured in exhibitions across the globe, most recently at CAC Malaga in Spain and, in 2017, at the Nien Mier Gallery in Los Angeles, California.
