Zdenek Legner was born in 1954, he is a well-known Czech academic sculptor, who creates metal or mixed media sculptures. He fell in love with iron at a young age, and over the years he perfected the smithy. He seeks inspiration in trees, clouds, and women. Although metal can look cold, if taken into the hands of a master, it can breathe life, dynamism, and beauty into it. Each of Zdenek Legner's work is original, fully handmade piece of art. 


The artist participated in several exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including The Piccolo exhibition in San Marino in 2005, New European Art & Design exhibition held in Prague and Paris in 2013, and the Biennale Florence exhibition in 2010.

Zdenek Legner's outdoor sculptures and iron installations could be seen in the public area of the Thurn Taxis-Regensburg Castle in Germany, on Staten Island in New York (USA), or in Disneyland in Paris (France).

His works could be found in private collections in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Austria, the USA, and so on. His large sculpture «The Couple» is located in the private collection of prof. Engelbert in Munich, while his «Iron Tie» sculpture is in hands of the former president of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus. Several of his outdoor metal installations are a part of the private art collection of Julia Roberts. 


In 1992 Zdenek Legner created Crown Of Thorn's art installation which is an integral part of the National Memorial in Terezin (The Czech Republic). His mixed-media sculptures (iron & glass) could be found in several other museums in the Czech Republic
