Enas Sakr

Enas Sakr (b. 1981, Egypt) is an Egyptian visual artist, researcher and academic whose multidisciplinary practice explores human experience, identity and the social realities of contemporary Egyptian society. She graduated in 2003 and received her PhD in 2019, specialising in contemporary art criticism and art history.

Alongside her artistic practice, Enas Sakr has worked as an academic lecturer at the Higher Institute of Applied Arts in 6th of October since 2008, teaching art criticism and art history. Her professional experience also includes art research, cultural education, art workshops, exhibition organisation and the publication of critical and academic writing on Egyptian and international contemporary art. Her research interests extend to art therapy, art criticism, documentation and the development of cultural curricula.

Enas Sakr has been active in the Egyptian visual arts movement since 2003, exhibiting both locally and internationally across painting, drawing and photography. Her exhibition history includes presentations at the Sultan Qaboos University Conference in Muscat, Oman (2022), the Jordanian Royal Cultural Centre and Aila Society for Culture and Arts in Jordan (2026), as well as exhibitions at Saad Zaghloul Cultural Centre and other Egyptian cultural institutions. She has also participated in international photography exhibitions in Germany, Bahrain and Jordan.

Her artistic and academic work has received awards and recognition, including First Prize - Oscar at the Third Plastic Arts Creativity Festival and the 20th Youth Salon. Her work and research have been featured in Egyptian and Arab media, art publications and cultural programmes.
