Sharronn Amusan

Sharronn Amusan was born and raised in Coventry, England, a city destroyed by the Luftwaffe in November 1940 and rebuilt as best she could in the post-war years. Her early years were certainly marked, unconsciously, by the chaos of a landscape that was being rebuilt, but which also became a field of many adventures.

In 1965 she began a degree in French at London University.  Although she spent a lot of time drawing, a future in the arts had not been offered to her. That time was yet to come.

After her studies she married a Frenchman in France and became French.

The premature death of her husband made her fully aware of our human condition and the passage of time.  In response, she returned to art, which she had abandoned several years earlier, by joining various workshops, notably that of Daniel Lacomme, where she pursued her interest in abstraction and collage. She temporarily abandons a purely aesthetic work of abstraction on the relationship between forms and colors, to concentrate more, in the collage, on the two themes, the human condition and the passing of time, which does not prevent a work high in color, the gateway to her universe.

Since 2006 she has participated in several group exhibitions, such as Art Shopping Paris and Deauville, and in several exhibitions with local artists in the Val d'Oise with a personal exhibition in Ecouen in 2013. Several exhibitions are to come in 2022 in Paris at the Galerie l'Libre est l'art and in the Val d'Oise.

She continues to practice her profession as an English teacher at the Ecole du Louvre.

Her works are in private collections in England, Switzerland and France.
