Presentation

Timothée Bocage began painting during his childhood with his paternal grandmother. A youth bathed in colors and various forms on canvas, paper, pottery, cardboard. His grandmother wants to pass on the passion for colors to him. Returning from the Dunkirk carnival, pierced by colors and emotions, he decided in 2016 that his passion become his life path by developing his technique through the skills acquired in art school.

He begins with abstract portraits influenced by the greatest masters such as Picasso, Miró and Basquiat. Then, Timothée experiments, by a furtive passage, the painting with the knife and carries out a first exposure of colored portraits. Geometry quickly caught up with him, inspiring him to explore its shapes on a black background in order to work on contrasts and thus provoke the unveiling of intense colors through figurative works.

Today and more than ever, color is present in his abstract works, he plays with the superposition of volumes and colors, controlled by clean lines.

The new series: 1 + 1 = 3.
Timothée wishes to transmit his joie de vivre and his positive energy. The artist seeks to express in a simple and abstract way, but with the control of the lines and the overall balance of the work, a very strong symbol, the meeting and the coherence of the colors which creates a third.

This new series of works "1 + 1 = 3" represents all the symbolism of his work of research and openness to others both in its humanist dimension and in its pictorial world.
