Presentation

Antoine George is a French visual artist known for his colorful works and his unique style which he himself called "pop-antique". By merging ancient beliefs and symbols with familiar, contemporary objects, he creates a visual language that offers a multitude of interpretations. Each piece reveals layers of meaning, prompting the viewer to explore their own interpretation and reflect on our relationship with the past and present. With training from the Compagnons du Devoir, Antoine George acquired solid technical skills. He perfected his mastery of modeling, art drawing and photography during his training at the Coubertin Foundation. With a varied background including experiences in teaching and as an industrial designer, Antoine George has developed skills in the use of 3D modeling software. Today, his works demonstrate his technical accomplishment while highlighting his passion for mythology and design. In all of his creations, Antoine seeks to create a double discourse. His paintings and sculptures offer a multiple reading depending on the viewer's point of view. His work reminds us of the importance of remaining humble in the face of the complexity and richness of our world and its history. Presentation of the “pop-antique" concept. I am delighted to present to you my artistic approach to the 'pop-antique' concept. In this artistic exploration, I fuse ancient sculptural elements with modern everyday objects, creating a visual and conceptual symbiosis between two distinct eras. It is an approach that aims to create a dialogue between the past and the present, between traditions and modernity, and to reveal the deep connections that exist between them. We are invited to observe a double reading. Ancient sculptures evoke mythological stories, legends and traditions that shaped entire civilizations. On the other hand, modern objects, often from popular culture, carry with them their own heritage and meaning. They are loaded with collective memories and represent icons of our contemporary era. In my works, I explore the tension and harmony that emerges when these two worlds collide. By blending ancient beliefs and symbols with familiar, current objects, I create a complex visual language that offers a multitude of interpretations. Each composition invites deep reflection on the continuity of human history, on the values transmitted through the ages, and on our constantly evolving understanding of the world around us.

Through 'pop-antique', I seek to stimulate the viewer's imagination and raise questions about our own identity, our relationship to history and culture, as well as the social and cultural changes that shape our era. I'm excited to share this artistic experience with you today and hope that my 'pop-antique' exploration inspires you to see the world from a new perspective, where echoes of the past resonate in the present. In conclusion, my 'pop-antique' works are distinguished by a gloss finish in vibrant pop colors and a resolutely modern and fresh aesthetic. It is an invitation to celebrate our cultural heritage, to question norms and to explore the infinite possibilities of creation. They demonstrate the importance of looking back to better move forward with our history and our society. I hope that my 'pop-antique' works have provoked in you an enriching reflection that is deep but also light in presentation.
