Mathieu Trautmann is a French photographer who lives and works in Paris.

Driven by an insatiable need for expression, he explored different mediums whose contours overlap to finally reveal only a single line.

An artistic director by training, he collaborated with the Steidl editions which commissioned him to produce photographic works. His sober and impactful style defines a style of writing that he subsequently refined within fashion editorial offices and with numerous clients in the luxury areas.
In 2014, Mathieu Trautmann felt the need to fully express his vision and decided to devote himself entirely to photography.

Passionate about images and compositions, his work results from a silent dialogue established with the subject and is nourished by an obsession: bringing still life to life.

The beauty that he considers, far from being futile, is an elegance, a delicate modesty that he orchestrates to face what intrigues us, frightens us, excites us, pleases us. His images invite us to take a different look at the world around us.

His neat style with a refined aesthetic attracts prestigious advertisers such as Dior, Kenzo, Chloé parfums, Shu Uemura, Issey Miyake parfums, Chanel. He regularly collaborates with magazines such as Numéro, Narcisse, Mia...

In 2021, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Baudelaire, Gallimard editions have chosen to illustrate a collector's edition of Les Fleurs du mal with its Flower Polaroids series.

In 2022, Remèdes gallery is devoting a first personal exhibition to him in Paris entitled “Human Nature".
