Presentation

Marion Chombart de Lauwe developed and flourished her artistic career in a multidisciplinary context and marriage between the performing arts, music and visual arts.

Trained in theater from 1999 alongside studies in anthropology, she devoted ten years to the performing arts as an actress. Her continued practice of drawing and visual arts leads her to create numerous visual forms adapting to the projects for which she is committed.
It was in 2010 in Paris that she began her practice of intaglio engraving. This experience will allow him to develop his work around the transfer from one medium to another. Integrating the world of FabLabs, she also appropriates digital tools and devotes herself to a large-scale artistic project around architecture and the memory of transformed urban landscapes.

She strives to construct a view in direct and instinctive relationship with the terrain where the work is developed and shown. The contextual aspect is fundamental. She draws the process of transformation of places, then engraves the imprint of these ephemeral moments on the materials from the buildings themselves. Thus inscribing a subjective story for an archeology of the future, which can find a place in the public space close to these narrated landscapes.

In 2022, she joined 6b, where she set up her workshop and became actively involved in the collective and associative life of the place. This creation and distribution center, unique in its kind in Île-de-France, welcomes a rich creative ecosystem of more than 250 structures and resident artists.
His work is part of a free and atypical approach, striving to take the temperature of this world through space and its representation, tracing if possible with poetry and vitality, the paradoxes and complexities of our perpetual transformations.

She works landscapes in movement and light. Some are invented and feed on an inner world, others come from existing places and bear witness to times that slip away and are developed.
She also exhibits her artistic practice in performative forms. Thanks to the use of an overhead projector (analogue), the drawing is developed live during concerts and cultural events. Progressive, ephemeral and improvised in direct correspondence with the music and the public, the drawings find a place in the “living" show.

Using metal drawing, stencils, engraving, painting, ephemeral cartoons... she assembles pieces of reality and imagination, of space and memory that has happened, conveyor and transient of elusive and left worlds as such.
