Biography
Catherine Viollet lives in Malakoff. She followed artistic training at the School of Fine Arts in Quimper and at the School of Decorative Arts in Nice.
Associated with Free Figuration during the exhibition “Finir en belle" with Robert Combas, Di Rosa, Jean-Charles Blais, Rémi Blanchard, François Boisrond in particular, Catherine Viollet then defined her own itinerary between figuration and abstraction.
The particularity of Catherine Viollet's work lies in the association of drawing and painting, charcoal and oil.
The meeting of these two specificities refers to the concerns of the artist when she participated with others in the Free Figuration movement.
