Sandra Quintin

I lived in Guyana for more than 20 years. In an omnipresent nature that I find here, powerful, whose links woven with humans make us enter historical, ecological but also mystical, magical, poetic worlds.

My compositions then represent women who are both timeless and present in universes between reality and abstraction, but who ultimately refer us to what surrounds us, are an element of it, and tend towards porosity and evanescence. It is a story of us, of our links with Nature, of our presence.

Finding the look above all; the one that takes us out of the frame, opens up spaces, looks outwards, or inwards… Looking for this look that speaks, this look that experiences, that refers to states of mind, projects, opens, creates connections, invites us to look around us, delivers us to our sensations, our place and our links with the Earth.

I use and project my emotions to paint. No limits in these landscapes that are not and that are only a possible dimension. Visible lines, colors and gestures. To sometimes feel the breath of the wind, the sweat of the green or the presence of the trees. To look for the color, the stroke of the brush or the knife to finally propose an aspect of the non-finito, to confuse the tracks, and perhaps to send back to each one his own sensations and reflections.
