My work reveals the fragility of idealized images, transforming them into territories of desire and memory

Biography

A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, Marie Minot has developed an artistic practice where collage, blending manual and digital techniques, takes center stage. Her work revolves around the simulation of painting, questioning the boundaries between authenticity and artifice.

Drawing inspiration from both fashion advertising and her own photographs, she creates hybrid surfaces that combine visual seduction with perceptual instability. In her pieces, fragments are assembled to form compositions that blur the lines, inviting viewers to question what they choose to believe and what they accept to be deceived by.

Through this approach, Marie Minot explores the power of images to shape reality while distorting it. Her practice highlights the fertile gap between appearance and truth, revealing illusion as both an aesthetic and a critical driver.
