Bronze Sculpture for Sale
A painter above all, Jean-Pierre Formica finds his inspiration in Mediterranean culture.
Jean-Pierre Formica was born in 1946 in Uchaud, in the south of France. He lives and works between Paris and Arles. A graduate of the École nationale des beaux-arts in Paris and Montpellier, he taught visual arts at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Val de Seine.
A painter above all, Jean-Pierre Formica finds his inspiration in Mediterranean culture. He works with fragments and repetition, but also with memory, traces, imprints, and sedimentation, as evidenced by his famous salt sculptures.
Jean-Pierre Formica has exhibited, among other places, at the Jesuit Chapel in Nîmes, the Toulon Museum, the Montbéliard Museum, the Nîmes and Arles arenas, the MAMAC in Nice, the Espace Paul Riquet in Béziers, the Espace Vallès in Grenoble, and the French Institute in Tel Aviv.
In 2010, he invested in the cellars of the famous Champagne producer Pommery and published, with Actes Sud, a book on his Carnets de corrida. He has also collaborated on several projects for haute couture with Christian Lacroix. He has also participated in the Nuits Blanches de Paris, and regularly at the a-part festival.
