"Make Art With Money, Not Money With Art." This is the slogan of street artist The Pop Suréalist.
The Pop Suréalist is a French street collage artist born in 1979. In 2003, he graduated with honors from the jury,
from the École Supérieure d'Art Moderne in Paris. He has been working with the technique of analog collage since that time.
In 2018, he began a series of collages of banknotes which he diverted by associating them with human silhouettes.
unearthed and cut from old books and magazines dating from the 1950s to the present day.
The Pop Suréalist brings back to life the characters that illustrate the tickets and questions us deeply about the
fascination we have for money, erected into an almost religious icon. How can we explain this reflex that our eye has?
to cling to this symbol, this grail, this piece of paper?
The Pop Suréalist offers us, with this collection of collages, a poetic, surrealist work,
committed and intimate, available in small and medium formats, visible in numerous exhibitions, galleries and art fairs.
XXL (human-sized) versions of his collages also flourish on the walls of many cities
from France and Europe since 2020.
