Biography

Méta is a self-taught artist from the Auvergne region of France. Passionate about painting and sculpture, he began drawing at the age of 12 and gradually added color. A graduate of the École Polytechnique, he continued to create charcoal drawings, sanguine sketches, dry pastels, and acrylic watercolors using both brushes and palette knives. Sculpting came later. Working with wood, carving, and the desire to add material rather than simply remove it, presented him with a new experience. Modeling became his preferred medium, with the themes of women and, above all, animals becoming dominant. He most often paints and sculpts endangered animals.

In the artist's words: For some time now, I have been focusing on representing animals by breaking glass plates, playing with shadows and light, whites and grays... The result is surprising and can be considered part of the Street Art movement. I exhibit regularly in art galleries.

His technique: working on a glass plate with a series of precise strikes on the glass, playing with black and white. Tools: hammer and small chisel for finishing.
