Sophie Hors

Trained at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, Sophie Hors first learned to think about space, light, and color. After a career as an interior designer, she devoted herself entirely to painting. Inspired by the vibration of light, she captures everyday moments to reveal their hidden poetry. She exhibits in Parisian galleries, asserting the singularity of her vision. Through her close-ups, vivid contrasts, and interplay of colored shadows, she reinvents landscapes and scenes of daily life into luminous compositions.

Sophie Hors also works with the collage technique; she enjoys searching for patterns by combining papers and sometimes fabrics.

She draws inspiration from the paintings of the Fauvist painters, and from the palette of the Catalan painter Joaquim Sorolla. Following training in illustration at the Estienne School of Applied Arts in Paris, she also finds inspiration in children's books.
