Biography
Alain-Marie Parmentier is a contemporary French sculptor whose work stands at the edge of poetic figuration and organic abstraction. Born on a farm in the Vosges mountains, his profound connection with nature is the original bedrock of his artistic process. Although his technical training and career in the industrial sector did not initially suggest a life in art, it was precisely this deep knowledge of materials and transformation processes that acted as the catalyst for his creativity.
Critics frequently highlight the sensory and vibratory dimension of his works. Parmentier typically begins with clay modeling—a "quick writing of the spirit" that captures the emergence of a form. This sketch is then translated into noble and diverse materials: wood, stone, bronze, cast iron, or aluminum.

Maternity and family bonds.
The human figure and its relationship to the sacred.
The animal and plant world, explored through fluid shapes.
